A Community Approach to Health Care
Medi-Share is a health care sharing ministry – a faith-based alternative to traditional insurance where members share each other’s medical bills and pray for one another’s health.
Health Sharing Built on Faith & Community
Medi-Share is a program of Christian Care Ministry, a nonprofit organization. It’s not insurance – it’s a community of like-minded believers who agree to share each other’s medical costs according to Biblical principles.
Members pay a monthly share amount (similar to a premium) and an Annual Household Portion (similar to a deductible). When a medical need arises, bills are submitted and paid from the shared funds of the membership community.
- Often lower monthly costs than traditional insurance
- Large nationwide network of providers
- Members pray for each other's medical challenges
- No lifetime or annual benefit limits for eligible needs
- Available to individuals and families
The Medi-Share Process
Understanding how Medi-Share works helps you decide if it’s the right fit for your family.
1. Join the Community
Apply to become a Medi-Share member. Members must agree to a statement of faith and adhere to certain lifestyle guidelines.
2. Pay Your Monthly Share
Each month, your share amount goes directly toward other members' eligible medical bills - and theirs go toward yours when you need it.
3. Receive Care
Visit any licensed provider. Medi-Share maintains a network of providers, and you can also see out-of-network doctors with cost-sharing adjustments.
4. Submit Bills for Sharing
After meeting your Annual Household Portion (AHP), submit eligible medical bills for sharing. Members contributions cover the cost and you receive prayer support.
